Code of Conduct
THE ANNEX BEAUTY ASSOCIATION
Code of Conduct
Purpose
The Annex Beauty Association exists to support beauty professionals through education, networking, mentorship, collaboration, referrals, and professional development.
Our mission is to help beauty professionals build successful, sustainable careers while fostering a supportive and trusted community built on professionalism, integrity, and respect.
By participating in The Annex, members agree to uphold the following standards.
Professionalism
Members are expected to conduct themselves professionally when interacting with clients, fellow members, industry partners, vendors, educators, and the public.
Members should:
• Communicate respectfully and professionally
• Honor commitments whenever reasonably possible
• Provide timely communication when circumstances change
• Take responsibility for their actions and decisions
• Strive to represent the beauty industry positively
Integrity
Trust is the foundation of every successful professional relationship.
Members are expected to act honestly, ethically, and in good faith when conducting business, participating in referrals, collaborating with other professionals, and engaging within the community.
Members should accurately represent their qualifications, experience, licensing, certifications, and services.
Respect
The Annex is committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for beauty professionals at every stage of their careers.
Members are expected to treat others with dignity, courtesy, and respect regardless of background, experience level, specialty, business model, or personal beliefs.
Harassment, discrimination, bullying, intimidation, threats, and personal attacks are not consistent with the values of The Annex.
Collaboration & Community
The Annex was built on the belief that beauty professionals are stronger when they support one another.
Members are encouraged to share knowledge, offer guidance, provide mentorship, celebrate successes, and contribute positively to the community.
Professional disagreements may occur; however, members are expected to address concerns professionally and respectfully.
Professional Reputation & Referrals
The Annex serves as a professional network that facilitates relationships, referrals, collaborations, educational opportunities, and business growth.
Members understand that trust is essential to maintaining a strong professional community.
When participating in referrals, overflow opportunities, subcontracting arrangements, collaborative projects, mentorship programs, or educational opportunities, members are expected to communicate honestly, act in good faith, and conduct themselves professionally.
Member Concerns
Members experiencing concerns involving another member are encouraged to contact Annex leadership directly rather than engaging in public disputes.
When appropriate, concerns may be reviewed through a confidential advisory process designed to provide mentorship, guidance, conflict resolution, and professional recommendations.
Commitment to Growth
The Annex believes that education, mentorship, and professional growth should be the first response whenever possible.
Members are encouraged to view challenges as opportunities to learn, improve, and strengthen their businesses.
Community Accountability
Membership in The Annex carries both benefits and responsibilities.
Members are expected to uphold the values, standards, and mission of the organization. While The Annex is committed to education, mentorship, and professional growth whenever possible, the organization also has a responsibility to protect the integrity of the community and the professionals it serves.
The standards outlined in this Code of Conduct apply to interactions occurring both within Annex spaces and in professional relationships between members when such conduct directly impacts Annex members, referrals, collaborations, educational programs, or the integrity of the community.
Conduct that repeatedly undermines trust, harms fellow members, damages the community, or conflicts with the mission and values of The Annex may result in review by leadership.
The Annex reserves the right to issue warnings, place members on probation, suspend participation, or remove membership when leadership, or the Board when applicable, determines such action is necessary to protect the community and its members.
Our Commitment
Together, we are building a professional community where beauty professionals can learn, connect, grow, and succeed.
By participating in The Annex, members agree to contribute to a culture of professionalism, integrity, accountability, collaboration, and respect.
